A large corporation in Hampshire suspected that their employee was working against them

Client:

A large corporation in Hampshire

Background:

The client has suspicions that a member of their sales team was working against them. The employee would frequently leave the office for the day to ‘visit customers’, which was unusual behaviour and sparked concern.

Despite the employee claiming he was out to win new clients, business continued to decline and the client couldn’t work out why.

Convinced that the employee was being dishonest and unlawful, the client needed proof. They reached out to their local solicitor firm, who then appointed Bascombe International to carry out an investigation.

Solution:

Bascombe International’s agents commenced surveillance on the employee, which quickly revealed that he was visiting competitors during working hours. A background check also revealed that he had set up his own company in direct competition with his employer.

Result:

Bascombe International submitted the evidence to the solicitor, who then presented it to the client.

During a meeting with the employee in question, the client played the footage to the employee, who admitted to all allegations and was subsequently dismissed for gross misconduct.

Feedback:

“This was a great result for our client who were able to prevent the employee from further damaging their business and reputation. First class effort from a very professional team.”
